Is A Ceramic Coating Worth It?
If your vehicle is used for the sole purpose of getting you from point A to point B and don't care too much about its long term condition and visual appeal, a coating is not worth it for you. But if you're someone who wants to keep your vehicle looking its best for years to come, a ceramic coating is highly considered.
Highlighted benefits of a ceramic coating:
-
Durability is measured in years whereas a traditional wax only lasts for a few months
-
Greater resistance to harsh chemicals especially those used in drive thru car washes
-
Increased dirt repellency reduces contamination build-up
-
Extremely hydrophobic makes for easier washing/drying
-
Stronger protection against UV rays that greatly reduces clear coat failure
-
LESS WAXING = MORE DRIVING
One can certainly get by with the more traditional Clay-Polish-Wax, but for those seeking a higher level of protection and care for their vehicle, get in touch with Mo to figure out which correction and ceramic coating combination is right for you!
How Long Will The Coating Last?
Properly decontaminating the paint through stages of iron removers, clay treatments, and some level of buffing ultimately determine the effectiveness and longevity of any paint protection. When properly installed, most consumer grade ceramic coatings are advertised to last anywhere from 1-3 years. This also depends on the manufacturer's suggested layers that are to be applied for maximum durability. Several coatings also have a corresponding "topcoat" that act as a sacrificial layer to protect the ceramic "base coat" beneath. These additional layers could extend the durability to last up to 5 years.
It goes without saying that proper maintenance will ensure the longevity of the coating. Applying a ceramic booster every 3 months will definitely keep your coating in top shape with an annual ceramic coating service to safely decontaminate and recondition the surface. For a professional touch, schedule Mo's Full Exterior Wash on a monthly-quarterly basis to maximize the effectiveness of your coating!
